Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Sonora Socratic, our 12th Grade Core, and The Automator's Guild elective.
Who is the academy for?
Ambitious teens (12th grade) who want a rigorous Socratic academic core combined with real-world technical skills. We serve students who are ready to think deeply and build eagerly.
What is the relationship between SSA and The Automator's Guild?
Sonora Socratic Academy (SSA) is the school and 12th-grade academic core. The Automator's Guild is our premier technical elective track, integrated into the core curriculum.
How does the 12th grade core work?
The core consists of Socratic seminars on classical and modern texts, writing assignments, and oral exams. Students also complete a technical elective (The Automator's Guild) where they build real software.
Is this ESA approved?
Yes. Sonora Socratic Academy is an approved vendor for the Arizona ESA program. See below for payment details.
How does payment work for ESA families?
1. The Deposit ($100): You pay this today via credit card to reserve your seat. You may submit your receipt to ClassWallet for reimbursement under "Curriculum/Materials" or "Tutoring Services," depending on your contract. 2. The Tuition Balance: We are a Direct Pay Vendor in ClassWallet. You do not need to pay the tuition out of pocket. On January 1, we will email you a PDF tuition invoice.
