Community & Support
Education is not a solitary pursuit. At Sonora Socratic, we build intellectual community through small pods, rigorous dialogue, and lifelong networks.
During the Course: Socratic Pods
Students are assigned to small "Socratic Pods" (6–8 students) for the duration of the core. These pods meet weekly for:
- Oral Exams: Short, frequent viva voce checks to ensure mastery.
- Peer Review: Structured feedback cycles on essays and Automator's Guild technical projects.
- Studio Hours: Drop-in office hours with senior mentors for unblocking and debate.
Project Defense
Technical mastery is demonstrated through Oral Defense. Students do not just submit code; they present and defend their architectural decisions to their pod and instructors, simulating professional engineering reviews.
After the Course: The Alumni Network
Graduation is not the end. Our alumni network remains active for life:
- Demo Days: Alumni return to present new automations or ventures.
- Reading Groups: Continued study of Great Books and technical texts.
- Project Clubs: Collaborative building on shared interests.
Parent Communication
